About Trogir Trogir is a town that lovers of art and historic and cultural monuments should definitely visit. This Medieval town is a real pearl of Venetian Gothic style, therefore, it is often called “little Venice”. Its history, however, dates back much before the Venetian Repulic, to the 3rd century before Christ, when Tragurion was founded by Greeks. Unique works of art, turbulent history and the charm of the old part will impress every visitor. Many cultural events take place in the old stone streets in summer. Particularly attractive are folklore performances and fishermen evenings traditionally organized for visitors every summer. Kairos In the monastery of St Nicholas, a replica of a relief of the god Kairos by the esteemed Greek sculptor Lysippos from the 3rd c. A.D. is being exhibited. Kairos was the ancient Greek god of the lucky moment or right opportunity, which is, according to Greek mythology fateful and one must know how to make use of it. It is personified in the character of a strong, nude youth on a sphere with wings on his back and legs, as well as a scale in his hands. Always in flight, he must be grabed by the hair, which is the reason for the tuft above the forehead, however, he is bald at the back of the head. He is elusive like a lucky opportunity.
