General information
Pazin is a central Istrian town and the center of Istarska County. It lies at the junction of the main road and regional roads towards Zminj and Vodnjan, as well as Labin. It also lies on the Divaca-Pula railway section. The old part of town, Kastel, is located on a hill about 130 m above the cave Jama (Fojba) into which Pazincica River sinks into. Jama Cave is a unique natural monument with a vertical incline of 100 m. The economy is based on agriculture, wine growing (surroundings of Pazin), textile industry, plastic processing and the processing of stones. Pazin has several types of restaurants serving traditional Istrian, as well as venison specialties.
