General information
Necujam – place that is located on the island of Solta not far from the city of Split, is a favorite excursion destination attracting visitors by the beauty of its quiet bay. Thanks to the ferry lines connecting it to Split, Necujam is a favorite excursion destination for many inhabitants of Split, as well as a holiday destination. Nowadays, Necujam is the tourist center of the island. Excellent accommodation facilities (apartments, holiday houses), as well as numerous bays with crystal clear waters (Piskera, Maslinica, Podkamenica, Sumpjivina, Tiha) will appeal to bathers, excursionists and boaters. The beauty and charm of Solta was appreciated by the Roman emperor Diocletian, who had his fishpond in Necujam. Among the first to be captured by the beauty of Necujam were Marko Marulic (1450-1524), the father of Croatian literature, and Petar Hektorovic (1487-1572), a poet and writer.
Various entertainment events take place during summer, particularly attractive being the traditional fishermen evening. Sports and recreation lovers have at their disposal tennis, mini-golf, fishing and water sports. Organized excursions are available.
