General information
Bol, a harbor and the oldest town on the island of Brac, is nowadays an attractive summer destination located on the southern part of the island. It is one of the sunniest islands of the Adriatic. The town can boast of having cultural and historic sites, marvelous nature and splendid beaches. The most famous beach is Zlatni rat that is actually a pebble cape that stretches into the sea and changes its shape depending on the wind and waves. Bolska kruna Mountain, with the island’s highest peak Vidova gora, dominates the town. Tourism began to develop in Bol in 1963 when building of the first accommodation facilities started. Nowadays, Bol offers a large selection of various types of accommodation. The economy is based on agriculture, wine growing, fishing and tourism. Various restaurants offer local and international cuisine, with an excellent selection of quality wines. The inhabitants of Bol are particularly proud of the well-known wine Bolski plavac. Bol offers cultural and entertainment events, as well as sports and recreational activities, especially in the summer months. Bol’s offer suits everyone’s desires. Bol is connected to the mainland by ferry and boat lines via Supetar to Split.
We recommend:
Besides traditional recreational activities, we recommend to sports lovers windsurfing and other water sports. Visit Bol during the WTA Croatian Bol Ladies Open tennis tournament or for the Gospe od Sniga celebration (August 5), a traditional local festivity in the memory of the day when, according to legend, it snowed on the island. This day is also the day of the town of Bol. An excursion to Vidova gora Peak, where you can enjoy splendid views of the surrounding islands, as well as prsut (smoked ham), cheese, wine and lamb in the konoba on the peak itself is an absolute must.

"Bol je kao destinacija vrh hrvatske turističke ponude, više zbog prirodnih ljepota, a manje zbog truda turističkih djelatnika."
