Why Croatia and where in Croatia?

Croatian National Tourist Board’s slogan for Croatia is
Mediterranean as it once was , and We truly believe that holidays in Croatia can fit into the above slogan. Holiday in Croatia can suit needs of a modern traveller.
Not only that coastal regions of Dalmatia, Istria and Kvarner are diverse, it can also offer you and your family an active holiday close to the beach whether it’s in an
apartment,
room,
hotel,
or you can enjoy a quiet holiday in Istria, staying in an authentic
rural household
Croatia was voted
the destination of the year 2006 by
National Geographic Adventure and has received excellent review from
Lonely Planet as well.
Croatia coastal regions
ISTRIA is the Croatian region ideal for a weekend break in a rural household in Istria or a
beach holiday in some of the most popular destinations as
Rovinj,
Pula,
Rabac,
Medulin,
Umag or
Porec
There is an international airport in Pula, in the south of Istrian peninsula, located some 30-40 km from major
tourist destinations in Istria.
Pula
is one of the oldest city in Croatia and we recommend visiting
Roman amphitheatre,
a definitive "must- visit".
KVARNER with it’s "pearl"
Opatija
is the region with the oldest tourist tradition. Due to excellent weather conditions,
Opatija
is a great destination for year round weekend or a week long stays. During Winter it is mainly a gateway for retired people from nearby countries.
Besides Opatija, very popular destinations are
Crikvenica and
Lovran, while the most visited islands are
Krk,
Losinj and
Cres
There is an international airport on the island of Krk.
(
Omisalj),
while many of the tourist going to Opatija use Pula airport as well (cca 80 km). The distance to Zagreb Airport is some 170 km.
DALMATIA can be divided into three main regions with its centers:
North Dalmatia
(
Zadar),
Central Dalmatia
(
Split)
and South Dalmatia
(
Dubrovnik).
Majority of the Croatian islands are situated in Dalmatia, hence the reason it is the most popular
sailing
region in Croatia.
Dalmatian region is very rich in history, and we warmly recommend
Zadar,
Sibenik,
Split,
Dubrovnik,
Hvar
(on the island of Hvar) and
Korcula
(on the island of Korcula) as top historical sites in this part of Croatia. Main international airport is Split with most connections to Zagreb (capital of Croatia).
Dubrovnik
is served with many international and domestic carriers from most of Europe throughout the summer months.
In Dalmatia, Zadar has an international airport as well.
Continental Croatia
Although most visitors to
Croatia visit the coast, Continental Croatia with its
stunning beauty attract more and more visitors each year. A "not to miss" is the National Park
Plitvice
Lakes where we offer
hotels and
private accommodation
This region of Croatia is ideal for a weekend break or a day or two rest on the way to the coast.
