Visas for citizens of Russia and Ukraine

Citizens of Russian federation and Ukraine do not require a visa to enter Croatia
Note from the Ministry of foreign affairs:
Provisional visa regime suspension from 1st May to 31st October 2009 – citizens of the Russian Federation/citizens of Ukraine, holders of valid regular passports, will not require a visa for entering the Republic of Croatia and for a stay of up to 90 days, or for passing through the territory of the Republic of Croatia

Croatian islands chosen as the most beautiful in the world

The Spanish edition of Conde Nast Traveler magazine chose the islands of the Croatian Adriatic as among the most beautiful in the world yesterday (Tues) in Madrid.
 
Conde Nast Traveler readers voted for the most-beautiful islands on the basis of 15 criteria.
 
The islands of Greece, Corsica, Puerto Rico and Mauritius were also among those called the most-beautiful in the world.
 
Croatian Ambassador to Spain Neven Pelicaric and Sanja Jelic, the head of the Croatian National Tourist Board office in Madrid, attended the awards ceremony.
 
The Spanish edition of Conde Nast Traveler belongs to the Conde Nast Publications group that includes Vogue, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and Brides.

According to the Lonelyplanet Croatia soared to the top of this year's pollafter a fourth-place finish last year. Croatia's appeal was its uniquecombination of culture, history, cuisine, accessibility and affordability. Asone staffer wrote, "This is Croatia's year. It appeals to a wide range oftravellers with its rich diversity of attractions. And it has not yet beenover-touristed, but it has developed an excellent tourism infrastructure -- sothat it suits both adventurous travellers and those who need a degree ofcomfort in their planning. Croatia among the safest destinations on the Mediterranean

BERLIN, July 25, 2005 (Hina) - Bild, the German newspaper with the highestcirculation, published, on Sunday, an analysis on the safety of tourist destinations,stating that Croatia belongs to the group of safest countries on the Mediterranean.

Croatia, not mentioned directly in the analysis, is marked green on the world map,which indicates that it is a safe destination. Among other Mediterranean countries, France,Greece and Slovenia belong to the green group. Bulgaria and Russia, also popular touristdestinations for Germans, received the ‘green light’ as well.

The map, according tothe accompanying text, was compiled based on information collected about the state ofsecurity from the ministries of foreign affairs of Germany, Austria, France, GreatBritain and the United States.

Italy and Spain were marked gray (due to the threatof terrorist attacks) because of their participation in the war in Iraq. Yellow wasused to represent countries with no threats of terrorist attacks, but with high criminalrates. According to the map, these countries are Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia andHerzegovina, Albania and the European part of Turkey.
